38 people have died as a result of a fire at a clinic for drug addicts in the city of Taldykorgan, Kazakhstan.

Another 40 patients of the clinic have been rescued, the Kazakhstan government has announced as cited by Russian news agencies.

The fire started overnight, and spread to an area of 650 km. The fire has been contained, and the Kazakh authorities have started an investigation.
