BULGARIAN, BRUTALLY KILLED IN SYRIA, BURIED IN DAMASK

Rossitsa Zhelyazkova, who was brutally killed in Syria by her husband, was buried in an Orthodox graveyard in Damask. The mother of Rossitza Zhelyazkova, who is in Syria, attended the funeral, her grandchildren though were not allowed to bid final farewell to their mother. The burial service took place in the Orthodox church “St. George” in Damask. The parents and the relatives of the arrested al Kihiya refuse to allow the children to go back to Bulgaria. Bulgaria’s Embassy to Syria hired a local lawyer who will defend the interests of the children, the Foreign Ministry announced. The Bulgarian Foreign Ministry will insist that the two children of Rossitsa Zhelyazkova return to Bulgaria. This would be a precedent in the countries from the Arab world. The husband of Zhelyazkova, the Syrian citizen Ezedin al Kihiya confessed he had killed her and may be sentenced to death under the Syrian legislation. After a four-day search, the body of Rossitza Zhelyazkova, a Bulgarian living in Syria was found on May 28 in the yard of her house in Damask. Her husband was arrested by the Lebanon authorities on May 28 and brought back to Syria.
