Dobrinka Mihaylova is the new Director of "Audit of EU Funds" Executive Agency at the Ministry of Finance after the old one was release on Wednesday.

Mihaylova will take the position temporarily until a competition takes place and the PM Boyko Borisov approves the winner, the Financial Ministry's press office announced.

Dobrinka Mihaylova has Major degree in Economy and has over 20 years of experience in accounting, control and audit. She took a key role in the national control system reform, and under her guides were created the Public Sector Inside Audit Law and the Public Sector Financial Management and Control Law.

Mihaylova has international experience with projects from the European Union, the World Bank, Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), and many others. She has also represented Bulgaria in the European Commission Audit Regulation Committee.

The former Director of the Executive Agency, Rayka Ontsova, was fired Wednesday by the Finance Minister, Simeon Djankov, at the order of the Prime Minister, Boyko Borisov.

The main motive for her dismissal is that she failed to notify the Finance Minister of correspondence with the European Commission that required urgent measures on part of the Bulgarian authorities.

On August 12 and 13, the EC sent letters to the Bulgarian government regarding the compliance assessments of the operational programs "Transport", "Technical Assistance", and "Competitiveness" that were not reported to Djankov and respectively to Borisov.

The letters are submitted through the European information system to the Director of the Executive Agency "Audit of EU Funds", and the managing institutions of the operational programs.
