The Executive Director of the "Kozloduy" Nuclear Power Plant (NPP), Ivan Genov, is planning to resign from his post.
The news was reported by Darik radio, citing Genov's own words.
The reason for the decision are earlier statements coming from the new Economy, Energy and Tourism Minister, Traicho Traikov, that Genov failed to protect the interests of the NPP.
Traikov said contracts signed for the sale of electric power on the free market were not in the interest of either the plant or the public.
Ivan Genov is currently on vacation and will submit his resignation on August 24.
Genov told Darik that he did the best he could for the NPP and has realized a profit of BGN 179 M just in 2008.
