Bulgaria's export through its Danube ports declined by 55% in the first half of 2009 compared to the same period of 2008.
The data has been released by the Regional Customs Agency in the Danube city of Ruse.
The total value of Bulgarian-made goods exported through the Danube ports of Ruse, Vidin, Lom, Svishtov, and Silistra in the first six months of 2009 was BGN 404 M.
The Bulgarian import through the country's Danube ports also declined as a result of the economic crisis but only by 24%.
The Bulgarian export through the Port of Svishtov in central northern Bulgaria was worth only BGN 132 M in Half 1 of 2009. This means the export through the Port declined 2,5 times as in the first half of 2008 it was for BGN 341 M.
