The fire in Bulgaria's Stara Zagora region that threatened to burn out of control Wednesday has been localized according to local firefighters.

A 61-year-old man from the Stara Zagora region has been blamed for starting the fire through carelessness. The fire destroyed 2 villas and 18 agricultural buildings as well as 200 hectares of grassland and 2 hectares of forest.

Seventy-seven Bulgarian servicemen with seven vehicles were involved in the fire extinguishing operation near the Southern city of Stara Zagora.

The fire broke out Wednesday around noon, and the wind helped flames to quickly reach a pine forest, Darik Radio reported.

All available personnel and machines of the Stara Zagora fire brigade, seventeen people from the Civil Protection agency, equipment from Stara Zagora municipality, and Kazanlak, including the servicemen, are all involved in totally extinguishing the fire.
