No hotels have been shut on Bulgaria's northern Black Sea coast, and the resorts there are doing relatively well despite the crisis.
This was announced Wednesday by Marin Neshkov, chair of the Varna Chamber of Tourism, as quoted by BTA.
85% of the beds in the high-class hotels of the St. Constantine and St. Helen Resort have been filled; the northern resorts have a large number of new reservations for August and September.
Neshkov said the number of German tourists had declined but the resorts around Varna had attracted a large number of Russian and Romanian visitors. They are also starting to rely on the increasing number of Bulgarian tourists.
He also pointed out the UK visitors had started to prefer the Southern Bulgarian Black Sea resorts because the services there were cheaper as the crisis and weaker pound made their vacation packages 30% more expensive.
