Two cities in Northern Bulgaria saw their summer heat records broken on Thursday.
A temperature of 36,8 degrees Celsius was recorded in the central city of Veliko Tarnovo; the temperature in the northeastern city of Dobrich reached 35 degrees.
As the summer heat is expected to continue, mostly in Northern Bulgaria, the Ministry of Emergency situations has released a list of recommendations on how to prevent sun strokes and other health issues caused by the heat.
The major pieces of advice include drinking lots of water, avoiding direct exposure to sunlight, and reducing alcohol consumption.
