More than 5 000 US soldiers have been killed so far in the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
The Pentagon statistics show that a total of 4 332 soldiers in Iraq, and 669 in Afghanistan, BGNES reported.
Thirty US soldiers perished in Iraq so far in July 2009, which made it the deadliest month for the American forces stationed there; another 55 have been killed in Afghanistan.
The Pentagon has spent more than USD 1 T on the two wars.
