Record Winter Tourism Numbers Reported in Bansko
Bansko, Bulgaria's premier mountain resort, experienced a surge in winter tourism, with more than 190,000 visitors flocking to its slopes during the season
The ski resort, Bansko, will host the twelfth edition of the traditional jazz festival organized in the Bulgarian town each year.
The festival will take place on two stages, one at the town's central square, and the second in front of the Royal Towers Hotel, from August 8-13.
All the performances are free, and that it way the interest towards the jazz festival is growing each years, and fans not only from Bulgaria, but also from other countries are visiting it.
More than 150 musicians from nearly 20 countries will take part in the event. There will be performers from Austria, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Russia, Japan, Egypt, Israel and many others. The festival will be traditionally opened by the Bulgarina singer, Vasil Petrov. Petrov, together with Kameliya Todorova, are the each year mandatory performers.
At least 20 000 people are expected to visit the jazz festival in Bansko. Almost all hotels in the resort are offering special prices for the six-day event.
