Nona Karadzhova

BIOGRAPHY

In 1997-2005, Karadzhova served as the head of the "Strategy, European Integration, and International Cooperation" Directorate at the Bulgarian Environment Ministry. This period included the governments of Ivan Kostov and UDF (1997-2001), and Simeon Saxe-Coburg and the NMSP (2001-2005).

During that period, Karadzhova was actively involved in Bulgaria's negotiations for EU accession on the environment protection chapter.

Karadzhova resigned from the Environment Ministry as the government of the three-way coalition took over in 2005. Since then she has worked as a consultant in the environmental field.
