Bulgaria's 41st General Assembly is beginning working sessions during the upcoming week, the Speaker's Council decided Wednesday.

The meeting was attended by the new Speaker of the Parliament, Tsetska Tsacheva, her deputies and the leaders of parliamentary party groups.

The initial intentions were for the Parliament to convene on July 27 after the appointment of the Cabinet, but the Council decided Wednesday to begin work on July 22. The project for the new Parliamentary Code of Work is expected to be completed by then.

The first item on the July 22 agenda would be to adopt a declaration about the Parliament's priorities, Tsacheva informed. The declaration is to be prepared by the Chair of the Parliamentary group of Citizens for European Development of Bulgaria (GERB) party, Tsvetan Tsvetanov.

By Monday July 20, Tsvetanov should present the declaration to be discussed by the 6 parties in the 41st General Assembly.

The Members of the Parliament will also discuss during their first working session the new Parliamentary Code.

Another item on the agenda is to accept the resignation of the Cabinet lead by socialist Prime Minister, Sergey Stanishev.
