BNB: Bulgaria Must Join the Eurozone As Soon As Possible To Avoid the Losses of Billions

Bulgarian banks gave 16% more credit in May 2009 year-on-year.
According to statistics offered by the Bulgarian National Bank, the total amount of credits is BGN 49,8 B.
However, the banks profit decreased by 31% in May 2009 year-on-year, and became BGN 73 M.
The total amount of deposits increased during the same period by 9,6% to BGN 59,8 B. The share of the physical persons deposits is the highest - 38.1%.
Bulgarian bank assets, though, decreased in May 2009 month-on-month by 0,4%, and in the end of the month equaled to BGN 69,2 B.
