Bulgarian Lawmakers Discuss President’s Veto on VAT Act
Cash payments over BGN 30 000 will be forbidden in Bulgaria as part of government's attempt to fight the grey economy.
The law changes were discussed Wednesday by the both Parliament's Corruption, and Budget and Finance Committees. Payments over that sum will pass only through banks.
The initial proposals were cash payments over BGN 5 000 ore BGN 10 000 to be banned. The bill is expected to pass before the elections this summer.
The Budget Committee Chair, Rumen Ovcharov (also a former Economy and Energy Minister), said he was willing to enter the bill for discussions in the Parliament.
