Bulgaria's ethnic Turkish coalition partner hopes to see a repeat of what they called "a night of glory" during the first European elections two years ago.
The Movement for Rights and Freedoms, a key partner in the Socialist-led three-party ruling coalition, registered on Friday at the Central Electoral Commission for running in the European Parliament elections on June 7.
"The party staged a very good performance at the previous MEP elections and our expectations are to see similar results this year as well," Korman Ismailov, chair of the youth section of the party, told reporters.
"We expect to be supported by at least half a million voters and gain at least four seats in the European parliament," he added.
Bulgarian parties and coalitions, willing to join the race for MEPs, should submit their papers to the Central Electoral Commission by May 12.
