Bulgaria and Turkey have signed a cooperation agreement on technical regulations and standardization at a bilateral business forum in Sofia.
Economy and Energy Minister, Petar Dimitrov, and the Minister of State of Turkey, Kursad Tuzmen signed the agreement early Wednesday.
The two ministers were attending a bilateral business forum in Sofia. In 2008 bilateral trade volume between the two countries exceeded USD 2,7 B, and according to the Turkish Minister, is going to amount to more than USD 4 B in 2010.
Turkish investments in Bulgaria have been estimated at USD 700 M.
Turkish State Minister Tuzmen will be in Bulgaria for three days. Tuzmen will meet with four Bulgarian ministers and Turkish businessmen working Bulgaria.
He will also sign the Technical Cooperation Memorandum and inaugurate a Turkish Trade Center in Sofia. Tuzmen will be accompanied by more than 80 businessmen working in the construction, contractor services, food and manufacturing industries.
