PERMANENT HOLDER OF POSITION CUSTOMS AGENCY DIRECTOR APPOINTED

Asen Asenov was appointed permanent holder of the position Director of Bulgaria’s Customs Agency on May 29. The order for the appointment was signed by Finance Minister Velchev after Prime Minister Saxe-Coburg approved the proposal. The motives for the selection were that Asenov had very good professional preparation and rich experience in the customs administration. He was appointed acting Director of Customs Agency on February 20 after Customs Agency Director Emil Dimitrov submitted his resignation. Asenov holds a MA in International Relations from the Moscow-based State Institute of International Relations. He started out as a customs inspector at Kalotina checkpoint on the Bulgarian-Serbian border.
