Bulgargaz Forecasts 5-6% Dip in Natural Gas Prices for May
Bulgargaz, the leading public gas supplier in Bulgaria, anticipates a notable decrease in the price of natural gas for the upcoming month of May. According to Lyudmila Vitanova
Russian gas supplies to Bulgaria continue to be cut by 60% a day after an explosion on a Moldovan section of a major pipeline, a senior official at Bulgarian gas monopoly Bulgargaz said on Thursday.
Angel Semerdzhiev, executive director of Bulgargaz transit unit denied earlier reports that Ukraine's Naftogaz had restored Russian gas supplies to the Balkans via Moldova to 90 percent of normal volumes.
"I don't know whether there are countries whose supplies have been restored to 90%, but this is not the case in Bulgaria," Semerdzhiev told Darik Radio.
"The balance of the system is guaranteed and there is not a single consumer who have been affected by the shortfall," he added, specifying that Bulgargaz will make up for the cut in deliveries from reserves at its gas storage facility of Chiren.
Full supplies to Bulgaria are expected to be resumed in two days.
