President Barack Obama declared Sunday American forces would not enter Pakistan in hot pursuit of Taliban extremists across the Afghanistan border.

"I haven't changed my approach If we have a high-value target within our sights, after consulting with Pakistan, we're going after them", Obama said in an interview broadcast Sunday on CBS.

The US President, however, also vowed to hold Pakistan accountable for its potential failure to act in countering terrorist groups

Obama's statement comes after on Friday he put forth a new strategy to refocus the fight against terrorism on Al Qaeda by commiting thousands more troops and billions of dollars to the Afghan war.

"We are going to root out their networks, their bases. We are going to make sure that they cannot attack US citizens, US soil, US interests, and our allies' interests around the world". Obama has declared.
