The football team of Tullamore Dew Bulgaria beat the Embassy of Ireland in Sofia 6:3 in a Saturday match.

The game was organized by Tullamore Dew Bulgaria on the occasion of the recent visit of Ireland's President to Bulgaria, Marry MacAleese, and took place several hours before the Ireland-Bulgaria World Cup Qualifier.

Despite the participation of the Consul of the Republic of Ireland, the Irish were defeated 6:3 by the Bulgarians from Tullamore Dew Bulgaria.

Tullamore Dew Bulgaria is organizing a football tournament with retired Bulgarian football legends for June 6, 2009, when the second World Cup Qualifier match between Bulgaria and Ireland will be played in Sofia.
