The largest Bulgarian private TV channel, bTV, is no longer for sale.

This was announced Thursday by the Bulgarian media tycoon, Krasimir Gergov, who also holds shares in the TV channel.

In his words, the reason for the deal to be postponed is the global financial crisis. The TV channel is still stable, despite the crisis on the media market, he added.

In July 2008, bTV, owned by media mogul Rupert Murdoch, was put up for sale, and the asking price was at least USD 800 M. Moreover, the second biggest TV channel in Bulgaria, Nova, was sold to the Swedish MTG for EUR 650 M.
