Russian President Vlkadimir Putin and US President George Bush signed on Friday, May 24, a treaty for nuclear reduction by two thirds, or between 1 700 and 2 200 warheads, for ten years. The event took place in Kremlin, Moscow, where President Bush arrived late Thursday as a part of his European tour. The two leaders signed also a declaration for cooperation in missile defense. The treaty on nuclear reduction however has to go before the US Senate and the Russian Duma in order to be ratified.
