Bulgaria's border checkpoint Kulata was completely closed on Tuesday because of the protests of Greek agricultural producers.
The Kulata Checkpoint was closed only for trucks and buses Monday night as the Greek protesters blocked the Sofia-Thesaloniki road with 800 tractors some 10 km south of the Bulgarian border.
The Greek authorities managed to reopen the road early Tuesday but later the protesting agricultural producers blocked the road at the spot close to the city of Seres.
Thus, no vehicles would be allowed to cross into Greece from Bulgaria at least until 10 p.m. on Tuesday.
The Bulgarian Border Police recommend that Bulgarian citizens should head for Kulata when traveling to Greece. Instead, they recommend that the roundabout route through the Ilinden Border Checkpoint be used.
