Bulgaria ranks fourth in the European Union, only behind Estonia, Greece and Poland, by the number of people killed in traffic accidents per one million of residents, the Bulgarian Minister of Regional Development Assen Gagauzov reported.
The analysis of the most dangerous spots in the country, conducted by employees of the Bulgarian Traffic Police was going to be completed by the end of the year, the Minister announced.
Statistics show that 47% of the fatalities have occurred in residential areas. The total number of traffic accidents in those areas is 5,598 for one year.
