Traffic Jam Blocks Trakia Highway after Easter

Society | April 28, 2008, Monday // 00:00

Traffic jam has started to block the Trakia highway on Monday as thousands of people are returning to Sofia after the Easter holidays.

Police warned that rain in the regions of Plovdiv and Pazardzhik is further aggravating the situation and plead with motorists to drive safe.

On Saturday, huge traffic jams blocked Bulgaria's motorways with a 12 km long line of cars appearing on the Hemus highway in northern direction.

Currently the traffic on Hemus is normal but police expect traffic jams there in the afternoon.
