The Supreme Party Council of the Democratic Party passed a vote of confidence for Alexander Pramatarski. He will keep the post of DP leader after 45 out of a total of 47 people participating in the sitting supported him. Only two abstained, one was Pramatarski himself. The Supreme Party Council also granted him a mandate for conducting negotiations with all parliamentary represented forces, except for the Bulgarian Socialists Party. `I will insist that UtdDF hold a dialogue with the election winning coalition NMS II, on a coalition government included`, he declared minutes after the vote was announced. Immediately after the announcement of the results of elections 2001 he declared he would give in his resignation. Under the party statutes however, to elect a new leader the party will have to convene an extraordinary congress.
