Snowfalls have caused transport problems for thousands of motorists across Bulgaria as strong wind impedes the cleaning works.
Police reported that the poor weather caused closing of the Shipka pass through the Stara Planina mountain range.
Authorities say cleaning the pass is currently impossible, warning that the road conditions at the Republic's pass are also bad and cars going through it must be equipped with chains.
Roads in the lowest parts of Bulgaria are wet and slippery while those in the mountain areas across the country are covered with snow and ice.
With temperatures dropping and more snowfalls expected, police say drivers must be extremely careful behind the wheel.
