Fatal Cigarette Blaze Kills 1 in Bulgaria

A discarded cigarette is believed to have sparked the blaze that killed an elderly man in the coastal town of Varna early on Tuesday.

The 61-year-old man was pulled from his burning apartment at Hushove street stifled to death.

He is believed to have been smoking in bed when the fire erupted.

Fire investigators blamed discarded smoking materials for the fire after they failed to find any switched on home appliances in the apartment.
