All six members of the Bulgarian national team that presented the country at the 48th International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) came back to Sofia with medals.
The Olympiad concluded at Hanoi in Vietnam on Tuesday.
Deyan Simeonov and Nikolay Behulov grabbed won the gold medals for Bulgaria. Alexander Daskalov, Elina Robeva and Tsvetelina Tzaneva, all of them students on the Sofia Maths High School won the silver. The bronze went to Dobrin Urumov.
Emil Kolev and Nikolay Nikolov from the Mathematics Institute of the Bulgaria Academy of Sciences led the six-members team.
Ninty-three countries participated in the IMO and in terms of aggregate score, the Bulgarian team ranked 11th, which is actually a joint 10th with Taiwan, in the event.
Last year Bulgaria had ranked 21st and this time their performance has improved considerably.
