Voting began overseas on Saturday in the second round of France's presidential elections.
The heated run-off fight got under way at 1000 GMT in France's tiny island of St. Pierre and Miquelon near Canada's east coast.
The French nationals in North and South America count a total of 175,000. 74,000 of them are living in the US and the rest 46,000 - in Canada. They will have the opportunity to support their favourites from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. local time.
The French citizens in Uruguay, Argentina and Brazil will be allowed to cast their votes starting about an hour later.
More than 1 million French nationals overseas are eligible to vote a day before polls open in mainland France.
