EP Socialists Want Lower Roaming Prices for EU

The Parliamentary Group of the Party of European Socialists is pushing for lower roaming prices throughout the European Union.

"[The group] will do best to reach the best possible agreement when it comes to roaming prices in EU countries," its vice-president and head of delegation Robert Goebbels, said.

No discrimination against the citizens of Bulgaria or Romania will be allowed, he added.

The campaign aims to introduce an obligatory reduction in prices of roaming services that all mobile operators in all EU countries will have to take into account. The European Commission and the European Consumers' Association are among the organizations that support the Parliamentary Group's initiative.
