Bulgaria's Education Minister Daniel Valchev announced that he has never read any of the classic literature required in school and did his papers and analysis on the books without taking a look at them.
"Everybody speaks of having read the classics, but the truth is most have never done it," he said for private bTV channel. He used himself as an example, stating that he stayed away from all those books that are still part of the curriculum in Bulgaria.
Still, he claimed he did read "War and Peace" but much much later.
This statement came right about the time the minister instituted checks in all the schools in the country to see if students and teachers are slacking.
