BULGARIA'S RADANOVA FIFTH AT WOMEN'S SHORT TRACK 1000M FINAL

Bulgaria's silver medalist from Salt Lake City Evgenia Radanova ended fifth at the women's short track 1000m final at the Olympic Games in the United States. Yang (A) Yang from China was first, followed by Ko Gi-Hyun from Korea and Yang (S) Yang from China. Evgenia Radanova of Bulgaria won silver medal at the women's 500m short track final at the Salt Lake 2002 Olympic Winter Games, February 16, 2002. On February 13th, after failing to qualify for the finals at either the 1994 or 1998 Games, Bulgaria's Evgenia Radanova was finally rewarded for her perseverance by taking the bronze ahead of five-time world champion Yang Yang (A) at the Olympic individual short track speed-skating 1,500 meters. Thus she became the first Bulgaria with two medals from Olympic Games.
