Sofia municipality made the first step in providing visitors with all-round information for its cultural and historic monuments by opening three information boards.

The Mayor of Sofia, Boyko Borisov and Nikolay, the bishop of Znepol, officially opened on Monday the panels, located in front of three churches - some of the must-see monuments in the capital.

Alexander Nevski Cathedral, Saint Sofia Church and The Crypt are 3 of the 13 cultural monuments in Sofia, which will be supplied with info panels in front of them.
These will include information in Cyrillic and Latin about the architecture, history and art of the respective monuments.

The panels are a branch of the visual communications system in Sofia, developed by teachers and students from the National Art Academy. They are part of the Heritage Project, which was launched in 2005.
