Sofia will join for the third time the Earthdance event, which unifies more than 250 towns in 60 countries in a virtual dance floor in support of global peace and environment protection.

This year's 40-hour open air party will be held on September 15, 16 and 17 in the heart of Vitosha mountain, which dominates the view over the Bulgarian capital.

The highlight of the Earthdance event is a simultaneous dance-floor link up, when every event across the world plays the Prayer for Peace - morning in the Australian rainforest, midnight in London, and sunrise over the Himalayas.

The track is offered as a free MP3 download to anyone in the world who wishes to join at this moment by promoting an event, throwing a houseparty or just participating in their own unique way.

Dubbed "The Dance Aid for the New Millennium" the mega-event's mission is to foster an environment of peace and harmony throughout the global sphere while supporting non-profit humanitarian and peace-related causes.

In the spirit of "Think Global, Act Local," each local Earthdance promoter must donate at least 50% of their profit to a local charity.
