The two patients, who were transplanted heart and liver from one donor at Sofia's "Lozenets" hospital in the end of the week, are feeling good, it emerged Sunday.
The two 33-year-old patients spoke to journalists on Sunday and told them that they feel well after the operation.
Stamen Stamenov, 33, from Etropol was transplanted a liver. The second patient - Krum Ivachev from Ihtiman received a new heart.
The two men received their life saving organs by a 54-year-old donor from Plovdiv.
The operation lasted 20 hours. The surgery took place for the first time in Bulgaria and is unique with the fact that the transplantations were made almost simultaneously by the same surgeon - doctor Lyubomir Spasov.
This was the first heart transplantation carried out in Lozenets hospital, whereas 11 liver transplantations have been carried there so far, doctor Spasov explained.
