Bulgaria has handed over a Macedonian, 42, to US authorities, after he was nabbed for human trafficking.
The man was extradited on Friday, Bulgarian media disclosed on April 22 citing world news agencies.
Crime fighters suspect that over 2000-2004 the Macedonian used fake passports to lead illegal immigrants into the US. Each of his "clients," mainly from Macedonia and Albania, paid him USD 16 000, reports say.
The route of the illegal traffic passed through Bulgaria as well, it is believed.
The Macedonian suspect was arrested about a year ago at the border between Bulgaria and Macedonia.
