Fifteen Bulgarians will celebrate Christmas and New Year's Eve at the country's Antarctic base.
Ten scientists are presently there, and another five are about to join them in the upcoming days, an Antarctic scholar said in Sofia Tuesday.
Professor Hristo Pimpirev himself will be among a group of explorers who will boost the Antarctic expedition even further. They will travel to the base in January.
The scientists are assigned to study the effect of human activities on the environment.
They will stay on the ice continent until March 2006.
