Lots of fans wanted Stilian Petrov to be given the honour of becoming captain of his team Celtic, "but his time will come", an article in the Daily Record says.
Neil Lennon, who was recently picked, was said to be a good choice. "Lennon is a better organiser and a calming influence on the team," Murdo Macleod wrote in his article.
Celtic's captain's place remained vacant after Jacky McNamara quit the team.
The Bulgarian midfielder had the chance of becoming the second foreigner to head Celtic after Bertie Peacock from Northern Ireland who led the team in the 50s. Now, Neil Lennon is the second captain of the team coming from Northern Ireland.
