Bulgaria-born world No 1 mezzo soprano Vesselina Katsarova marked her return homeland with a splendid concert on Saturday night conducted by Bulgarian Maestro Metodi Matakiev.

"A mezzo soprano born once in a lifetime" wrote earlier Irish Examiner newspaper about the prospering young talent of Bulgaria.

Nowadays Katsarova is among the most expensive opera singers in the world, having in her stage background performances under the conductorship of Sir Colin Davis, Riccardo Muti, Claudio Abbado, etc.

Vesselina Katsarova has been a regular performer on the stages of NY Metropolitan Opera, Milan's La Scala, London's Covent Garden and many others.
