The levels of Internet penetration in Bulgaria have gone up by 7 points over the last year, according to a survey of the Alpha Research polling agency.
The survey also shows that the number of the adults using Internet has reached 23% in 2004, whereas in 2003 it stood at 16%. Most of the Bulgarians, 62%, use the Internet to check their e-mails.
Some 47% use the net as an informative source. Just 33% of the Bulgarians see the Internet as an education centre. E-commerce is not too popular in Bulgaria as just 1.2% of the people use the Internet as a trading channel.
