Bulgarian midfielder Marian Hristov, who recently underwent a knee operation, will miss the World Cup qualifier against Croatia due to an injury, it emerged on Sunday, confirming earlier reports.
Assen Bukarev has also been taken off the list of Bulgaria's line-up for the clash in Croatia.
Bulgaria faces the Croatian team on October 9 and Malta on October 13. A victory in Zagreb would secure Bulgaria's qualifying for the finals in Germany.
Marian Hristov, who recently joined the German Wolfsburg, will be replaced by Blago Georgiev, Assen Bukarev - by Ivan Paskov.
