Two women and a man from Bulgaria have drowned in a dam near the Spanish town of Mekinenanza, the province of Zaragoza, when their boat toppled over and cast all 13 people on board to the river waters.

Both husband and wife from Bulgaria found their death in the 15-meter-deep waters Sunday afternoon. Snezhana, 34, and Nezhdi, 36, joined their British friend David who had invited a dozen people on a sea trip with a rented boat.

The other Bulgarian victim was identified as Bedria N.A. from the village of Dulovo, Silistra district, who was residing in the Spanish town of Fraga.

The incident occurred at about 5 pm local time on Sunday when the boat carrying six adults and seven children turned upside down due to its overloading.

The number of passengers is still unclear. Investigation has been launched into the tragic incident.
