EMPLOYERS, PAYING WORKERS` FOOD TO PAY LESS TAXES

The 2002 budget will earmark BGN 30 M for the gap in the Social Security Institute budget, caused by the introduction of tax relieves for employers paying the food of their employees, the Bulgarian Industrial Chamber announced. At the last sitting of the National Council of tripartite Cooperation, Lidia Shuleva, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Social and Labor Policy, supported the introduction of tax relieves. The money for the food will be given as vouchers, and the employers will be relieved from the corporate taxes and social security contributions on the vouchers value, the representatives of the Confederation of Independent Trade Unions in Bulgaria, said. The employer`s food payments will be recognized as company expenditures.
