German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder, British Prime Minister Tony Blair and French President Jacques Chirac called Wednesday for the appointment of a European commissioner charged exclusively with pushing through economic reforms. The three held a special summit and sent their proposal in a letter to the Irish European Union (EU) presidency.
