US Allots USD 87.5 B for Iraq, Afghanistan

US Senate has okayed President George Bush's USD 87.5 B emergency funding package for Iraq and Afghanistan. This financial aid is said to be the country's most expensive and ambitious effort since the Marshall Plan to rehabilitate Europe after World War II. About three-quarters of the large sum will be paid for military operations in Iraq, with a much smaller sum for US troops in Afghanistan. The enemy in Iraq believes America will run but America will never run," Bush has commented on the numerous deadly attacks in Iraq since war was officially declared over.
