Moderate Earthquake Rattles Turkey on Sunday

A moderate earthquake rattled southeast Turkey on Sunday, causing no significant damage or casualties. The earthquake measured 5.7 on the Richter scale with an epicentre in the Poturge area, between Malatya and the major southeastern city of Diyarbakir. Anatolian news agency reported that the tremor struck at 4:48 a.m. (0148 GMT) and caused only slight cracks in a few houses.
