LUNAR Festival 2024: Illuminating Sofia's Nightscape Once Again
Sofia's Lunar Festival of Lights is back, illuminating the city with more than 20 captivating light installations across its most iconic landmarks.
Special security measures will be undertaken by Sofia police in relation to the upcoming nationalist marches in the centre of Sofia on Saturday evening.
The protests will be held against illegal migration.
The preliminary plan of the organizers envisages the march to start at 18:00 hrs with Sveta Nedelya Square as meeting point and continue along the route Knyaginya Maria Luiza Blvd and Lavov Most Square.
Filtering points will be erected at the meeting point of the two marches at which police officers will check for prohibited items – weapons, battons, bottles and knives. Persons who are visibly not sober will not be let through.
The streets in the centre of the city through which the nationalists will pass will be closed down in stages.
