"Unfortunately, our election was two days before theirs. In the US as an older democracy they managed to overcome the propaganda that a wealthy businessman cannot be President. Unfortunately, it will take five more years in Bulgaria."
Pharmaceutics entrepreneur Veselin Mareshki draws a parallel between himself and US real estate tycoon Donald Trump, who was elected President on Tuesday.
Mareshki earned the fourth-best result in the first round of Bulgaria's presidential election which took place on Sunday. He accuses "manipulations" in the vote prevented him from winning.
