Home Sweet Home: The Reality of Housing in Bulgaria Revealed
New data from the National Statistical Institute (NSI) sheds light on the housing landscape in Bulgaria, painting a picture of the majority of Bulgarians residing in older homes.
There are more than 23 000 openings available via employment offices in Bulgaria at the moment, Labor Minister Zornitsa Rusinova has said.
At an event marking the launch of a new employment bureau in Bulgaria's capital Sofia, Rusinova has added the figure goes hand in hand with a decrease in the share of jobless people registered "for the first time" in 11 years.
Unemployment dropped below the 10% mark earlier this year, even though some experts have been wary, saying the decline in numbers was mostly fuelled by temporary openings.
Rusinova has estimated unemployment as measured by the Employment Agency at 7.8%.
Eurostat data suggested in September that unemployment in had decreased over the previous month to 7.7% from 7.9% in July and was much lower than the 8.8% in August 2015.
As regards national statistics, they have also registered a drop as of the second quarter of this year.
